FrugalFoamySoap :: Foamy Soap a la Frugaldo

Foamy soap provides a time saving and water saving method for cleaning.  By its very essence, it instantly lathers up any item.  I use foamy soap to clean rug stains, wash pots and pans and wash my hands.  An initial investment in a foamy soap dispenser is about $3.00.

If you have a near-empty bottle of foamy soap at your basin, don’t put foamy soap on your shopping list this week.  The liquid inside those wonderful foamy soaps is simply diluted liquid dish cleanser.  Here’s my recipe for a refill.

FrugalFoamySoap

one empty foamy soap dispenser

2 tablespoons liquid dish soap

water to fill container

Directions:

  1. Rinse out the foamy soap dispenser.
  2. Add the liquid dish soap and water.
  3. OPTIONAL: add 2 drops food coloring and/or 3 drops essential oils.
  4. Close up the dispenser and shake.

My foamy soap dispensers last for years, though they sometimes need spiffing up with a brush.  The amount of dish soap needed will vary based upon the hardness level of your local water supply.  If I’m in the bathroom and in a hurry, I substitute shampoo for the liquid dish soap.  This often adds a nice color and scent.

Frugaldo!

  1. I do the same thing and now use these in all of my bathrooms and at the kitchen sink. A 1/2 gallon jug of dish liquid from Costco ($6) will last a year or more! I initially purchased the brand of soap with the pump dispenser and then after they were empty, just filled them up over and over again. Ever put in too much soap? Makes a mess when you push down on the pump! I’m a slow learner. Jami
